Lighting question

If you were going to put lighting over a 40 Breeder what would you put. It will have SPS but also softies like rics.
I am thinking 2 150W but maybe 2 250s for the extra intensity. What do you guys think? I know about the heat issue as i have a 250 over my 20L now.....my tank is very bright. Really isn't anywhere in the tank that doesn't get light except under the rocks lol.

But please give me some advice!

How do the 12K bulbs look? Are they very yellow? I was think 10K with actinics for the growth....but i like how 20K's look.

you can do 1 if it is high off the water. I have 1 x 250w lumenarc over a 4 foot shallow reef. It is pretty high off the water though. For that size and height though, I'd probably do 2 mini's or 1 std (if there is no center brace). Ice Cap or Galaxy ballast. Also go with 250w's the sps will like it better.

The 12,000k reeflux's are white with a hint of blue.

First, what exactly is a grow out tank? or breeder? I would suggest T5HO with GE 6500's that should give the best growth it just won't be as pretty as a light.

Yeah i was thinking 2 minis also so that way the light is spread more evenly across the tank.

Its jsut a name that that size tank is given i think. Because its long, deep, and shallow.
