I have since taken down the QT and want to use some of the LR from it for my DT. What do I need to do to make them safe for the DT?

The copper is in the LR and will leach out, even if cooked or soaked in bleach and throughly dried out. BTW... not a good idea to have LR in a QT tank anyway, use pieces of PVC pipe instead.
