Live Rock Suggestion/Where to Buy

One more question for everyone.

What types of live rock do people prefer? Anything a new hobbyist should avoid? Finally where would you suggest purchasing Live Rock in LA or online?

I would do dried rock, like pukani rock from Bulk reef supply or someplace like that. Dry rock will eventually become live. Buying live rock does have it benefits but also has it's downfalls like hitchhikers or nuisance algae. I would rather deal with dry rock and longer cycling time than have a crap shoot with live rock.

How much do you have? I'll be upgrading my tank in the next month and could use some more rock.

I'd definitely be interested in some. So do you really think it is not worth seeding dry with a small portion of live?
