Never tried them, I've seen them at RAP and at Marine Depot but was just trying to purchase locally to avoid the extra shipping costs MD adds on. Just trying to build up the pod population in my tank.

Coral Gazers has the Reef Nutrition Tigger Pods. You may want to try Age of Aquariums for the Algagen products.

Seaside Aquatics in Huntington beach has the algagen tisbe pods. These supposedly are the best for reef tanks and will multiply in your sump. I have tried them 2 times and not really seen any pods in the sump or tank. Algaebarn also has a good selection and bogo offers.

Yeah, did the AlgaeBarn thing back in December but haven't really seen any significant difference in pod population. Understand from Fizzman that a dirty tank makes for happy/many pods so maybe that's why I don't see as many as I'd hoped? Seems once again that toeing the line on nutrients to avoid algae growth impacts other occupants of our tanks negatively.

CJR do u have a sump with cheato? That's were you would typically see the pods. On the walls of the sump U'll see them, if ur display glass is spotless, u won't see that much, especially if u have fish like wrasse or dragonet or pipe fish cuz they pick them off the glass. Having a clean tank doesn't nesserilly means it's negative for other inhabitants. Pod population is self regulating depending on available food supply(not nutrients directly, but indirectly). They feed off Detritus and algae. If u ever put live rocks in or even snails, u already have a starter. Dosing phyto will surely increase their population but gotta take nutrient levels into consideration. U could buy some from me as a "booster" and phyto from me if it makes u feel better about it, but I'm trying to save u the money

I'm trying the artificial cheato method with one of those nylon shower loofas in my overflow. Running a Herbie method so most of the flow skims from the upper part of the overflow. But this situation does make it difficult to observe pods as access to the back of the tank is limited.

I HIGHLY recommend AlgaeBarn. Best price and best product! Free shipping over $40. I farm my own phyto and pods now, but bought from them.
