Looking for a computer genius

My computer got hacked or caught some type of virus, my son was able to get it working again but lost all my files. I’m hoping someone can still recover my files or can they still be recovered? Pls. Help.

important thing is not to download or put a lot new files in. I'm guessing your son reformatted the computer which "wipes" the files and reinstalled the OS. Good thing is that it's not ALL truly wiped. Those files were just marked as erased by the system until they get overwritten by some new files. Try searching for free file recovery on google, I restored a bunch of photos one time after deleting them by accident
