yeah I never had one but I am seriously looking in to it I like the RKE just for the look of the display....but I think I really only need the RKL basic....

The next step up is nice but I dont think the extra bucks is worth anything I need it for....I mainly need a temp controller, so might as well just get the RKL instead of a temp controller.

Yeah, thats what i thought to....ill just get the RKL.....but the i was like well if i am already spending 200.00 then why not spend another 200 and get what i really want. I am telling you regardless it will be the best money you have ever spent. No need for all these light timers, no need for extra thermometers, no need for extra controllers, or extra probes. The RKE does everything for you, right from one module. I even have mine set up so that in two presses of the button i can turn my entire system off, main pump and all. I like that feature for doing water changes without having microbubbles all over the place. IMO a good quality controller is worth every penny and is one piece of equipment i wish i would have bought years ago.

Thanks for the info. I am looking at the RKE also when I get my tax $$$ back lol. Because Right now I have 3 power strips and 4 timers jam packed in my stand which keeps pissing me off because it looks messy. Do they have the salinity probe released yet?

I am not sure if it is released yet, but I do know that it is in the works. I had called DA on a question I had about my unit and they were telling me all about it. I need to get another PC4 and I would like to get the NET module and the Salinity Probe. I have a really clean install of my head unit and PC4s and all the other accessories, when I get around to it I will take more pictures of my stand and sump and stuff.

Jesse, technically if you get the RKL everything is in modular form. I believe that all you would have to do is get the NET module from DA and connect it and then you should be able to access the controller from your iPhone or Android based phone. Again, don't quote me 100% but I think I remember reading that somewhere. I do know for sure that the DA is a modular system.

You are correct currently, Neptune is the only one that has phone control. However, DA is releasing My Reef 2.0 which will have control from a PC and they are in talks to expand it to the web. Most phones get web so you'll be good to go!....:top:

From what I have read this will work on both the RKL and the RKE...as long as you have the web module.
