I bought a phillips led flood light from Lowe's. I think it was 25-30 bucks. My chaeto grows like mad whenever I have nutrients in the tank. Its in the 5000k spectrum. Meant for outdoor use so it's splash resistant as well.

+1, PAR38 LED, 3-5000k, works great.

Hmm just realized that says indoor. I'll keep looking and double check my bulb for outdoor label It's got salt splash all over it and is going strong.

Which Jbj light are you using ??is it the nano glo ??? I've been using the par30 floodlight and I guess the humidity in my refugium was too much for it it kept tripping my gfi . I was looking into a new refugium light and was leaning toward the Jbj nano glo.is it no good ??

I've used a couple of nano glows for years and have never had a problem. I'm leaning towards the light is not your issue.

What could it be? I was just thinking the led is getting old, time to bring in something new. Other than that I can't imagine what else would cause Cheato death?
