So I finally got around to testing my calcium and alk.
Calcium: 443
Alk: 81ppm=4.5dkh

Should I raise the Alk up slowly? Or a big amount all at once.

I have 2 rbta's and a big red sps that has some how survived even though I the tank has been neglected for the couple years.

I will be using brs 2 part.

Raise it slow. No more then 1 dkh a day. Go to brs.com, they have a calculator.

Well... I read both of your posts but I did the opposite of both. lol.

Since I was at 4.5 i planned to raise it to 5.5. So I went to the BRS calculator and put in my water volume current and desired levels but instead of selecting DKH i left it on the default of meq/l by accident. So with that it said to dose 880 ml of solution. Well I did that yesterday. I checked my alk right now and its up to 7.1 dkh. So it went up by 2.6 dkh :redface-oops-6:

Redoing the BRS calc with dkh selected properly i should only have dosed 314 ml of solution

I guess I'll let it sit for another day before adding more solution.
