Hi Reefers,

Just wanted to see what are some of SoCali Reefers must have LPS corals and why? Thought it would be interesting to see everyones wants and needs for their DT, at the same time give us fellow reefers some LPS coral ideas that we could possibly incorporate in our own DT's. Let's see those LPS pix if you got them!

Same. I would love uncommon colors of hammers and frogspawn - but without paying $2000.00 per polyp :)

And you cannot have an LPS tank without duncans.
Yea no kidding! I saw a hammer sell for $1000!! Couldn't believe they sold it. It was like highliter yellow with purple. Don't get me wrong, the hammer was wicked, but for that price, no thanks haha

Although they are common, Frogspawn are a more easy LPS for beginners and can look super Bright! I would say that is a must have for every reefer!

Branching hammer, branching frogspawn, couple favia frags, and a couple acan frags are all on my "must have" stock list for my upcoming 40 breeder build.

Nothing at the moment. I recently moved and the only frags that made it are some easy sps, a green leather, and some zoas. These are holding steady in a 15g while I finish planning for an updated 40 breeder, which I want to make a mixed reef with the aforementioned LPS, some softies, and eventually a few easy sps. All I need is a new LED fixture and I have to refinish my stand then I'm good to go. I'm trying to do this build right and not rush things, but I'm getting really excited now that I'm close. Nothing like a new build to get the blood flowin'.

I'm all LPS and I'm a newbie. Knowing what I know now....I'd stick to rare hammers and frogspawn or octospawn. (My torch reaches out and stings things 9 inches away! Keeps my pulsing xenia from spreading though, which is a godsend) I'd rather spend once and be happy, instead of buying a few common pieces.
I love my acans (they're fun to feed), chalices, favia, Wellsophyllia, and lobo.
Yes the rare euphyllia pieces are ~200 or more but worth it IMO. Sometimes you really do "get what you pay for."

Did you see that $1000 hammer on cherry corals (.com)? Crazy colors, but no way I'm spending that much on just one coral!
