Caulerpa serrulata i think (not positive on spelling) i have it too.

Beware if it grows a lot like mine, it will consume all of your iodine.
Thanks for the info! Yeah, this grows like weeds, I trimmed about 80% knowing its gonna grow like crazy, plus it'll give the chaeto time to grow too! Thanks again!

Looks exactly like caulerpa, super invasive. It's actually illegal to sell in CA (if that's what it is). Don't let it get into the display

I don't think it's caulerpa! I've had it in the past, and looks nothing like it.

Illegal to POSSESS as well...

There are many species of Caulerpa. In San Diego county, you can't have any. But there are nine types you can't have in other CA counties. See this link:
https://dornsife.usc.edu/assets/sites/291/docs/Caulerpa_Species_ID_Key.pdf

Make sure you follow recommended disposal methods and freeze what you trash and never allow to get to water sources or sewer lines.

That being said, I'd like some when you trim it... :)
Haha! Me too! :D

Thanks for posting that pdf, hadn't seen it. I thought only c. taxifolia was illegal.

There's a guy on RC (in northern CA) who sells at least 2 of the varieties listed here. He's pretty open about it.

"California State Law: It is illegal to possess, transport, transfer, release alive, import, or sell
Caulerpa taxifolia, Caulerpa sertularioides, Caulerpa mexicana, Caulerpa ashmeadii, Caulerpa scalpelliformis, Caulerpa racemosa (and all varieties of C. racemosa), Caulerpa cupressoides, Caulerpa verticillata, Caulerpa floridana (California Fish and Game Code 2300).
City of San Diego Law: Bans the possession, sale, and transport of all Caulerpa species within city limits (City of San Diego Ordinance 18967)"
