hello to all, i have had my current tank for almost 3 years and always used scripps water. now that i have a decent fish store near me i decided to start mixing my own salt water. i have made 3 batches with neo marine. since the start i have not been good at keeping sps corals. i started loosing corals since i started mixing. i'm a little troubled by this, here i am trying to save a buck on gas and i'm loosing corals. the parameters are good, i mixed the water to match my tank. has anyone encountered this?

i'm thinking about getting rid of the salt and getting my water from scripps again.

thanks,
john

do you just check the SG, or are you testing Alk, PH etc of the mixed water?

Water temp, salinity, ph, alk oh and ho wlong did you mix it for? The temp and ph plus salinity are the most important.
