Yeah and I would imagine you would end up with some sand going through. Mine is at the bottom about 18" from the right side but I have a bare bottom. Its impossible to see because of the rockwork. If you have a set rock work it's possible! It's nice to do a water change and not have to turn the system off =].

Yea I have been staring at the tank since I got the overflow out trying to figure out the best way to hide it...lol I don't plan on there being any rock near the edges.

When I do water changes I keep my return running and just pump water in as I am draining. If you did this it wouldn't be a problem. I'm sure I end up taking out a very small amount of the new SW but the convenience makes it worth it haha

Yea I don't want a headache of a water change schedule haha. I will think about a design integrating it with the overflow.

Oh boy...

I have all of my rock do the display finished, I will snap some pics tomorrow. I setup my mixing station with two brutes and mounted my RO/DI unit. I got my QT all setup and cycled. I have 2 MP40's and 2 Kessil a360w's on the way. I will see how I do with two for now... Still debating my skimmer, I think I am going to go with a Skimz SK 201.

I have my stand and sump design almost finalized. Going to pick up a cheap PH and will start to cure the rock tomorrow.

I have this guy in the QT right now.

Fun times ahead, I am going to sketch out my vision for the coral tomorrow.

The rock? The left side has one tunnel, the right side (not pictured yet) has 2 tunnels. Both have many caves and overhangs.

Work has been gnarrrrrly lately, really blowing up. But I had some time to finish half of my mixing station. Got the fresh side done, will do the salt side to tie it all together tonight. Both sides have a detachable hose attachment, so I can pump salt straight into the tank, and not plumb through walls.

Yea man, my last two tanks I would fiddle for weeks, then a year later feel something was off and redo it all. This time around I just want to set it and forget it.
