What I'm trying to do is I want more room in the sump area and want a larger sump. I'm gonna keep my dt which is 24x24 and eventually I could go bigger with the dt so my ?s were. Will something like that work?

So you want to be able to make the stand bigger later on? That's going to be harder to do because metal warps. You dont want to put preasure in the middle of the tank.

How big are you planning to go? I would build a frame for that. Then just add bracing for the 24x24 you have now. You'll have space for a table top on each side of the tank.

I just purchased a metal stand, but I feel like it should be a little bit longer than my tank. Tank and stand are both exactly 48 inches. should I go for a larger stand? If yes, then I'd definitely sell you my stand.
