Mg dosing = wacked out skimmer???

1st time adding Mg. I started dripping Mg (Salifert mg powder mixed w/ RO/DI) about an hour ago... maybe 100ml so far, and about 15 minutes afterward my skimmer started just about blowing the lid off with huge bubbles, and just dumping water into the cup. I shut it off for now, but is this typical? Other than normal nightly feeding, nothing has been done to the tank today.

BTW... my Mg is 1200 - I want to bring it up to 1300 over the next several days.

Yep, that'll do it.......................Turn the skimmer off for 12 hours & everything will be fine

normally i mix all additive after the skimmer and buffles but i still do turn the skimmer off
