So just wondering exactly how high am i suppose to keep a hamilton 250 hqi Mh above a 37 gallon tank. Going down to lowes in just a minute to figure out something to hang it with? Is there an exact hieght i am suppose to stay above the water? Also should i start out higher to adjust my corals to the new light? I am switching from 4x24 watt t5 to a 250 hqi mh with a ushio 20k bulb,.. any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a mixed reef is that is something you need to know. Thanks, Jim

Well tried the 12 inch suggestion. Tank heated up so fast, it actually jumped in temp about 3 degrees in just a lil over an hour. Got it 2 feet in the air now. Raises temp about .2 every hour at the current spot so i believe it is fine where its at now.
