i have had similar experiences with microbubbles after changing things in my tank, it generally only last a few hours and then stops. i have no idea what causes it but its always gone away for me.

I am a bit doubtful of the quality of those jbj uv sterilizers. I just feel like 5 watts isn't enough even for a small tank and slow flow. Please keep us updated on it's performance, it would be interesting if it actually made a significant impact.

i bet that the sterilizer is putting more dead matter in the water. causing the skimmer to go nuts.... whynot do a waterchange and see what happens then?

fingers, what size tank do yo have the small uv light on??? I am assumiong 50 since y ou have a tang???

A tank that size would need a larger uv set up.

If it is set up correctly with the correct rate of water flw, it should kill ick.

Good luck

Bill
