Just wanted to see how people here start there tank off as in making sw outside or inside the tank. I'm about to start my 120 gal tank and see what is the best or easy way. Thanks

I hear and seen if you mix salt right in the tank it leaves a film on the glass or the salt crystal gets stuck on the glass.....if you're going to mix it in the tank I would make sure the water is warm so the salt crystal disolves faster.

If you are starting a NEW tank, I would also mix it in the tank. No need to make extra work mixing in buckets

Mine came out fine. I did just what Suvuong7 said, turn on heat to about 79-80 and added the salt slowly.

I put 200g worth of salt in after about 50g of water on a 180g tank. Have been adding water as the rodi makes it. A little film from the original water level but nothing a wipe of the hand doesn't fix. After I get all the water in I will make the salinity adjustment.
