So i might be moving at the end of this month, Just went into escrow, anyways i need to move my 125 gl tank my plan does far is to take out some water into a 40gl long i have with a bit of new water and place all my corals in there at the new house for a bit wile i get the fish rock and all that out. planing on placing the rocks with corals attached to them in those big round apple boobing containers LOL with tank water and a bit of freshly made water. going to place power heads in the containers to keep water moving. i might actually put them all in a big 110 tall tank i have with an mp40 attached wile i set the 125gl back up.

Now do you guys think i should replace the sand bed ?? its about 3 years old. when i set it back up im planning on using as much of the original tank water as possible.

Im only moving a couple miles down the road, not even 10 minutes and im leaving the tank for last.

what do you guys think ??

I have moved my 125 and other tanks three times in the past year and a half lol!! Here are the issues I ran into:
-make tons of fresh water at the final location!
- give yourself plenty of time for just this tank move! I didn't plan correctly and got my corals at the new pad very late, long story short, they stayed in bags overnight because I was dead tired and I lost a lot.
- tackle any issues you have with pests or anything during the move.
- replace the sand and seed with a cup of old sand.
- xtra hands makes for a smooth move!
- plan on a nice weather day! Long extension cord to the truck buckets for heaters and pumps while you load. The loading process can take some time so I found it best for my livestock to keep them on heaters and flow until I pull the cord and drive.
- xtra plumbing parts or preplan putting the tank back together. Some how my plumbing always has a problem after a move!!
- there's more I just can't remember ...

Good luck !!!
