bryanle87 If you nail that piece with par and flow and it'll give you some very nice color.

I really like that piece because it looks great both day and night. A week ago I moved a small frag up at the highest point in my tank to see how it reacts. Slightly more colorful so far but we will see. Here are a few pictures from it since I've owned it over the years. In my 100g under t5 then in my current 66g under radions.

got to close to water for top down in my 100g

Low in my 66g but still high light and flow

small frag I'm watching up high

I originally got that from another reefer as ASD rainbow millepora. But he had tons of frags and I think there was a mix up or there are two types out there (I've gotten mixed opinions when I ask people who see it as well as those I passed it out to). Anyway, I didn't get it directly from ASD and it doesn't look like the piece everyone thinks of with that label. That's why its labeled Smite's rainbow millepora here.

It's a great fast growing piece, congrats!

That makes our odds of winning much better.
True :) buuuut I'm pretty sure one of the motives behind these give-aways is to generate more active discussions on socalireefs. Active forums are better for everyone involved. Quick responses for those needing advice/help, ect. I'd imagine if the numbers drop off there will be less reason to have the give-aways every month. Free frags should motivate the 100s of lurkers i always see logged in but never posting. at this very moment there are 109 members and 200+ guest looking at the forum. You'd think that'd translate into more build threads and discussions with such a low "meaningful post" quota per month to enter. That's why I bump and hope to see the numbers raise as these give-aways continue on. Even if it lowers my personal chances at winning a piece. When I first got into the hobby there would be a large amount of new posts to look through daily, questions would get multiple answers and it helped me out tremendously with caring for my reef. Hopefully it'll get back there soon.

feel the same way about lurkers. I saw that rainbow Millie before you broke down the 100 gal and it's nice and furry!

The reason why I choose the meaningful posts instead of build thread because its way easier for people to participate. Not all of us have nice tank or good pictures to open or update a build thread. I think if we all contribute meaningful knowledge, experience,... it will help the community the same.
But honestly I am disappointed to see just less than 30 joiners. I see myself a fool if keep giving away corals (good ones indeed) thats not attract much attention nor helping much for the reefing community.

I understood your reason, and think it is very generous of you. :thumb::thumb: I also understand why you would not continue.

Keep it up Mr.V it’s a great idea to get others involved .like myself who is kinda hesitant to post all the time .Im waiting on my tank to be delivered and as soon as it does I’ll be on that list month after month .i see it not only as a chance to win a great piece of coral but also a chance to maybe be able to see you tank in person .A win win :)
