Those skimmers seem like they are way overrated. Look at the body size and compare it to other 600+ gallon rated skimmers. Obviously I know nothing about skimmer design and what not, but every other skimmer in that gallon range is like twice as big.

U positive it's gunna be enough for your tank and that huge bio load?

And the BK300 uses 2 pumps too

Its rated for up to 900 33" tall
New Bk 300 is up to 800 25.6" tall
Atb 1860 is rated up to 1300 but its only 30" tall but its a lot wider 18" base

I will let you know in a month or so how it will perform

My qt was contaminated so I have to put the fish to the main tank so far so good a week without a ick outbreak on the hybrid and the moorish idol. The cheap ozone generator from eBay keep the ORP around 400 using the ozone port from my Atb better than my Ozotech on the ozone reactor

.
finally, Lawrence all those awesome fish in the mixed reef. very very nice.

BTW, ive turned off my ozone reactor but my ORP stays 410-420 just on my oversized skimmer and my MP40s suck in a tornado of air once in a while & microbubble the tank. no ill effects.

Despite of my 30 gallons water change every 3 days the quarantine tank is too small and can't keep up with so many fish. Cleaning the qt and will use it again for the next small batch of fish in 3 weeks hopefully and qt them for 3-5 weeks before introducing them in the main tank again.
