Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I've already met some really cool people on SOCALIREEF. So, thank you. This my first every build thread on here. So here we go!

The OLD.

I had a 28 gallon Nanocube
Intank media basket
Chinese d120 led
Vortech Mp10.
15lbs. of live rocks.
chemipure elite
Purigen
10lb of live rocks
and corals etc.

Pros:
I loved the NanoCube setup. Nice, Simple and Easy and all in one. Why I chose the Nanocube? because I was constantly moving from city to city due to work, now I'm permanently here in Ontario, CA. I wanted something easy that I can move around still and maintenance would be simple. I do weekly water changes about 40% with RED SEA coral pro. I love it. Coral growth was awesome.

Cons:
Not a lot of room inside the tank. When I would move corals around I would accidentally break other corals. Uuggghh. I had to watch where I would put my LPS and Clams and Sps.

I just picked up a 45 gallon JBJ RL rimless. Couldn't beat the price of 300 with tax 323 :).
I feel like it's simple tank due to the all in one filtration and easy to move again option around the house.

What kind of stand? 1/07/2014
I was going to buy the stand but for $230? yikes! So, I had decided to give a DIY stand a shot.. Still working on this. I've never built a stand before so here we goo!!!

Still not done yet. I'm working on it.

I decided to order a Kessil A350w. People from another thread recommended it, so ill give it a try. :)

Still more to come.

Thank You. My first stand ever. Beats paying 300 for it when it only cost me $110. Looking to build one? just bring beer and you can use my tools. lol

Nice looking build David! Any ideas yet on the aquascape?
Thanks. My nanocube has Bubble algae so i don't want to use the rocks for there. so i might have to start over. Maybe dry rocks I might do pillars. More to come. :)

So did two tests.
1st I used my tank water and tested it, my reading was 1350ppm.
2nd I poured some Mag from brightwell and mixed it with my tank water and tested it. The test kit didn't give me an accurate test. Possible the Magesion from Brightwell is a knock off or no good?

Any help?
