Just thought I would share with everyone and also look for any input I can get,
I'm gonna start this project just because I love clownfish and this hobby I'm gonna start piecing together all the stuff I need to make a 3 10gal tank system with a 40 gallon sump. I also already have a pair of Picasso's that im hoping spawn soon.

Any info greatly appreciated
Thanks

Not that I have ever breed clowns, but I heard that keeping rotifers is the hardest part of breeding them. How do you plan on keeping rotifers?

Can't you culture brine shrimp that would be easier its just time consuming making a fresh batch everyday and feeding them before their yolk sacs detach

You start off with rotifers, I think they won't eat anything else, even dead rotifers. Then the brine shrimp.

I hope your project works out. Put me on a list for a Picasso!

Don't you wish it was that easy?

You're going to need about 5 cultures going before you even put the adults in their spawning vessel. Three phytoplankton cultures, Tetraselmis, Nannochloropsis and Tahitian Isochrysis. Two zooplankton cultures, rotifers and Artemia. If you can keep those 5 cultures going strong(which is a pain) then you can do clowns. They're like the guppies of marine fishes. I've bred clowns, cardinals, seahorses, gobies, Salmonids, catfish, bass, sturgeon, pike, even Garibaldi...I've been really busy these past couple years so I took a break recently to focus on buying a house and raising kids. But I'm hoping to be back into the swing of things this summer. HTH...
