Came home today after spending 2.5 weeks in Oregon to find that ALL of my zoas died and there's some weird algae growing in the tank.

Rastas, red hornets, Sunny Ds, strawberry wines, blue tubs, Kilowag, mandarin orange, BBE, fruit loops, bowsers, blowpops, flaming Suns, and sponge bobs gone

The only ones still hanging on are nuclear greens, utter chaos, and fire and ice

Sps doing a k from what I see

This is what I came home to

I checked my parameters and the are as followed

Alk:9
CA: 480
Mg: 1500
No3: undetectable
Po4: 11ppm

Also, one of my mp10s fell of on one side so there wasn't a whole lot of flow in the tank.

So disheartening.

I feel your pain. I came home on my lunch break today to find my meteor shower RTNd all but a dime size piece left and a mili starting to RTN.

Hope you figure out your problem. I know it's bothering me sitting here at working wondering what happened. I'm sure you are too.

Man! i'm sorry to her that. My meteor shower is STN'ing too. looks like everything is starting to get better though... or at least its not getting worse...

****, sorry to hear, that algae looks like Dinoflagellates
Yeah, looks like that to me too. I guess it's time for some Tech M.

It's totally gone. Sucks, was one of my oldest corals. Survives 2 tank crashes and then out of the blue it dies. My nitrates are really high but they have been that way for months though. I thought my tank was finally hitting its stride. I need to get this nitrate issue fixed.

This hobby can be so frustrating. Started a little over a year ago and have been on the brink of quitting a few times. And they say fishtanks are so peaceful.

did you figure out the reason behind the zoa loss?

man! well, If mine recovers I hook you up with a frag.

Not really. My parameters don't seem bad. Yes, my Alk, CA, MG balance is a bit off but I don't think it would cause that. I've turned on the MP10's at full blast and that seems to have helped. One of the MP's did fall off so I'm thinking that lack of flow caused this. I'm going to do a huge water change and run GFO to see if it helps

By huge, what do you mean? I did 10 gallon water change yesterday and am planning on the same tonight. My system is 90 gallons minus rock and sand. Should i be doing more to consider it a huge water change?

And thanks for the offer. I gave my mother in law a frag of it. Figured if all else i could get one back if it does well in her tank.
