1st thread in this forum? Horray if it is, lol. Heres a couple pics of how I did my mesh to a Rio pump for my T1000. It is Enkamat PF4 held on with a couple zip ties and 40# flouro. It does have some startup problems though...so I end up hitting it on the bottom of my sump a few, maybe several times to get it going. If I keep hitting my sump I'm thinking I'll be finding a lot of water on my floor. The pics:

I did remove some pins randomly...maybe 2 or 3. Unfortunately I didn't take any before pics, but it did improve the air intake by a lot. Right now its not producing that dark of a skimmate for some reason. Heres the pics I did afterwards that week:

Oh wait... I never explained how the mod works. I personally do not know how it works. All I know is that it increases air intake by a good percentage.

Well, decided to try redoing the mesh on the impeller and enlarging the venturi. I tried to make all the pins 1/2 their size and adding mesh. Now it made it worse since its barely able to pull any air in. I'll probably keep trying to mess around with the mesh and hope it can pull as much air as it did before I made it bad. This week I'll either order a new impeller or upgrade to the OR2700.
