Has anybody ever used this skimmer????
This is my first time using one and I can't get the level any close to where I want. I have it all the way open and it instantly fill the collection up with water. I have it in the proper water level. Also it put tons of bubbles out the pipe. Does it just need to break in???? Any info will help
Thanks reefers

If a new skimmer or been cleaned, then it is going thru the break in period as like with any skimmer. The micro bubble will go away once the break in period is done. Break in period can range between 72 hrs to 2wks, depending on your system maturity.

It did that with me at first. Did you just turn it on a day or two ago? I cleaned it in vinegar so it will be a couple days to break in like we talked about.

Please explain the maturity factor? Him and I traded and the skimmer I got from him is overflowing non stop and I can't figure it out lol. I like the skimmer so I was summing it up as a break in, but it's been a couple weeks.

How's the water level, is it all the way to the neck or higher, if higher then you need to set the skimmer on flat form to raise it up or turn down the flow !!!

Most Nac skimmers are backward. When you turn to fully open it is closed and visvis. It is also very dependent on water depth. Sooo turn it fully open (which will close it) then just crack it a bit. Mine is in 12 in of water while sitting a 3.75 inch stand that I made for it. I have had it this way for 21/2 years with no problems. They can be a ***** to get the skim cup off.

I've never had one pump water up so fast like this one does.ill let it break in and see if it corrects it's self. If that doesn't work I will try raising the skimmer a bit

In my experience with other skimmers I could turn them down to where they would not put anything on the cup and then when the skimmer broke in it would start overflowing and you could fine tune it

I think it's acting like it's in way to deep of water. I have it at the recommended level but I'm gonna bring it up a few inches. It will be a lot easier to adjust it up and find the sweet spot

if you added a brand new sock it will do that to a skimmer as well.
i thought about that but the skimmer is pushing water into the cup way over doing it. I will never se the stand and then if drops back down I will take it out
