Anyone in the close vicinity of Thousand Oaks has a fish trap I can borrow to catch a 2-3 inch Lyretail Anthias? This a-hole is disturbing peace in my tank and needs to go. This thing is too smart for typical DIY bottle traps, wont even go close to those.

Use a plastic bottle. If you have never made one you can look it up on Youtube

Interesting.... I had a dwarf angel that was too smart for the bottle trap. I didn't feed the tank for a day and the next day he went for it

I am concerned about the stress it will put on other fish if they end up in the bottle. Got a purple firefish, that probably will end up in the trap before this A-Hole. Also have couple of clown that may get trapped. A proper trap will be least disturbing to any of these fish.

I use to have the trap with the sliding door in the front. It worked but you have to sit there and watch the fish go in the trap. There was a string you hold and let go to close the door and trap him in it. I have used both trap s and they have both worked

Ever consider putting a very large net in your tank in the morning and just letting it sit all day? When you feed put the food in the net. Position the net in a way that your water flow keeps it nice and open and keeps the food in the net. It's worked for me for certain fish, Tangs triggers and Angels. Worth a shot.
