I am in need of chiller for my 60 gal. I saw this Euro Aqua 1/13 hp which claims that they can decrease about 10 degree in 60 gal. Anyone using it ? please let me know the good and the bad of it. thanks

I have a 1/10 hp Euro Aqua - got it about 14 mths ago. The fan just failed on me. Thx to my buddy for telling me how to fix it - oiled the fan motor bearings and it now works fine - otherwise it would have been in the trash.

You might consider something a little more reliable if you can afford it. Consider it an investment on the health and well-being of your livestock.

I'd get something bigger then a 1/13 hp for a 60 gallon. If it'll only drop the temp 10 degrees, it'll do no good if the room reaches 95. It'll also be running constantly to keep the temp down. 1/8-1/6 hp is more the range you should be looking in......HTH

I love to have more hp chiller but their size is too big for my allowable space. This chiller is only one that fit in there.Besides I can't have chiller that used more than 300W otherwise my breaker will jump (i know it sucks). My room temperature max is about 90-95 degree. thanks for input.

if you use that chiller and combo it with a fan for evap you should be ok and only using it minimal of the time. thats what i did with my 1/10 chiller on a 130 total volume of water.

I do have fan flowing across the water surface, but it seem like too much evaporating. I have to top off about 2-3gal of water every 2 days. That is one of the reasons I want to go with chiller, to minimize evaporation.

If you have that tight a space your chiller may not work well any way as it needs air circulation around it.
