I was messing up with the setting, now when I press the button to take the picture my came is going dead. I thought is bad battery, then I bought a new one but it happens the same with new battery with full charge. If you have experience with this problem above, please help me.
Im appreciated your help

Thanks,
Tony

whats your shutter speed at? I don't have it in front of me, but i believe it's on the upper left of the smaller LCD screen; if it says something like 1", 3" or whatnot, then the shutter just may be closed.

I have problem every time I press the button to make a shot then I heard a sound click the camera window closed and the camera got no power unless I remove the battery and reput the batter back then I get the power.

=Usingthejohn;446132]so the battery indicator says "empty?"?

I did a quick google search with "canon 40d dead battery full charge" and came across this:

You have you shutter opening for too long, its on long exposure setting, try shooting in auto or manual and have you shutter at over 200 and see if you have the same issues. I can take a look if youre close to HB??
