So I'm in the market for some reactors for go, carbon, and biopellets. What reactors would you recommend to connect to a manifold and that have easy maintenance in changing media.

I have a next reef reactor and it's been good cause the nozzles turn. I also owned an aquamax but didn't like it because the fittings weren't flexible.

Any suggestions?

How old is your Aquamaxx reactor? I bought one at the MAX show and I can point the outlets which ever way I'd like. I think the older ones are fixed. That said, I really like the aquamaxx for biopellets. It doesn't take a lot of flow to get the pellets moving. If I had the money, I'd buy the ReefDynamics reactor because of control.
For carbon, I'm just using a TLF 150 reactor and it works great.

I'm contemplating on getting the hydra aquatics BPS reactor. Seems like a good design and received great reviews on MD. Also the price is nice

The cad lights is the best bang for your buck. Talked to the reef dynamics guy at RAP, and asked him why his was so much better then cadlights. He tried to tell me how u can control flow and output separately.

He didn't say much when I said the CADLights does the same thing for half the price.

Reef dynamics is way overpriced and way over built IMO. The CADLights bio pellet reactor is super simple.

Look at the Innovative Marine mini max reactors for carbon and gfo. They seem like really nice reactors. I had the aquamaxx reactor hooked up to my manifold. After a few months, I regret it. Having a reactor with a dedicated pump is better IMO. (IM minimax)

They have a small, medium, and large reactor now. I have the medium reactor had it's more then enough for my 180. I doubt I'll even upgrade reactors with my new tank.

I wonder how you would know what the output of the effluent should be on the recirculating BP reactors?

EDIT: Bump. Wasn't meant to be a thread killer, lol.

Are there any reactors that allow you to change media without removing the tubing and all that? Basically so I don't have to remove it from its location...
I guess my previous posts with all my amazing knowledge was just passed over.

*******LOOK AT THE INNOVATIVE MARINE MINI MAX REACTORS.******

U can change the media very easy. U don't have to remove the pump and there's no hoses or anything like that.

I want to get one or 2 for my new tank. They're pretty sweet and make changing media a breeze

I have the minimax medium size or whatever, but in my experience, the media clogged. I don't know if I added too much media or what, but it always clumped up and rose to the top or stopped tumbling in the first place. But I never tried the full size one, so I don't know about that one.
