Ahhhhh... So this might actually be a problem with the computer instead of my router/network.etc? Thanks! I will try that and report back.

Try that in the windows command line.

The requested operation requires elevation :|

I think I need a new computer. I've been needing a new one for quite some time. Now I have incentive to go to bestbuy and drop a g on one of the new hybrid tablets I guess

I've seen best buy sell some really nice laptops for around $500. Look for a sale

You most likely have to run CMD as admin, type CMD in the search bar and when it populates, right click command prompt and run as admin, then try the command again.

Yeah. That's probably the problem.

Vista.... I didnt knwn that os was still around...

I dabble in antiquities.

Yeah. That's probably the problem.

Thanks, I will try again tonight by running as admin; It wouldn't let me run that command at all from safemode (some initialization error) so I will try normally tonight, since it turns out the new laptop I want to get doesn't even have a hardwire ethernet port :|

I was finally able to run this and the next firmware attempt resulted in "a socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network : 192.168.1.171:1066" ugh this is the WORST
