Looking for real world opinions on these two.

Considering both for a future build and seeing what people enjoy more?

I am not a fan of the MP40 noise. I clean mine often, even bought a second wetside so I could do it weekly with ease. They are just loud.

The flow pattern is great, I love the batter back up options, the things are just to loud. Everything else is great.

I currently have an MP40 on my waterbox 220, with two of the AI Orbits and a Octopulse pulse 4. I run the MP40 at max 30% so it's not obnoxious. I kept it because I have the battery back up and if there ever is a power outage, it could be important. But I can't run it above 30% of the noise bugs me.

Noise is definitely a big one for me, I have been using a Nero 5 for quite sometime and it is QUITE like dead quite but that’s perks of everything being the water I suppose.

Only experience with MP10s and Nero 3/5. Like most people mentioned, the MP10s got quite loud. Neros get my vote

I have 2 mp40's and 1 mp10 in one 77 gal tank.I have no noise except for an occasional snail getting beat up. No experience with Nero.
The Mp10 and one Mp40 I bought used. All three were upgraded to bluetooth. Once Mobius was enabled,I had less noise.

I have experience with both. I used MP40 on the previous build but had to move to something else due to 3/4" glass on the new build. My experience has been the Nero 7 have been as loud or louder than the MP40 at anything over 50%. This was disappointing for me and does not seem to be commented in other post so maybe I am unlucky. The design of the tank is 3/4" glass with an acrylic sheet inside the tank for the overflow so maybe that has an effect on the sound also.

Other than sound I have been relatively happy with the Nero 7.

In total, I have six MP40qd across all my tanks and one MP10qd on the frag tank. They have been super quiet on Reef Crest mode at 95%, even on 3/4” glass. However, 95% continuous mode will get hot and do get noisy though.

I have MP60s and Nero 7 in my tank. Both are great wavemakers. The integration with mobius is finally awesome with these two wave makers. Literally it comes down to the mounting options of your choice and cost. I've had MP40s in my last tank for years and never had "noise" issues unless you're blasting them super hard.

I have both MP40 and N7. I’ve noticed the MP40’s are louder than the N7. Flow is really the same and comparable from what I find. The MP40’s are iffy on 3/4” glass compared to the N7. Maintenance and convenience though is a lot easier with the MP40’s since you can just pull the wet side out and don’t have to deal with cables.

Jebao mow22 wave pump can't beat the price and throws down a ton of flow. Jebao Mcp 180 gyre puts out 9600gph
I like jeboa never had a pump die for 7 years. My apex wav's lasted maybe 4 years.
Bought 2 gyre and 6 pp20 for less then a mp60QD
