Don't you just love it when you hear the UPS truck coming down your street & you know he's bringing you something. Yep, he brought me my new camera today. Now this isn't any $1500 job or anything like that, but it beats the crap out of my 5 year old 3.1 meg point & shoot (which 5 years ago cost me more then this one). So without further delays.................

Thanks for the kind words......................

Ya I wanted to spend the $$ on new corals too, but I've wanted a new camera for quite a while now.

I bought a Kodak Z712 IS...............I read a lot of reviews on cameras & this one appeared to be a great bang for the buck...........Not to mention a 12X optical zoom which to me was the selling point.................Once I saw it on HSN & they offered 5 payments of $58 on flex pay, it was a no brainer.......

One more.....

Hey Steve

Did you use digital zoom? Pics look a bit fuzzy and grainy. See if your camera has settings to use macro and see if that works better if you arent using already. But I am guessing you just dont have enough zoom on them to use macro alone.

What kind of camera is it?

If you can adjust whitebalance manually I would work on that to remove blue from the pics.

Corals look nice though, but if you wanna compete with reefermaddness et al, need to practice practice practice. I was just starting to understand my D80 before i had to quit.

Nice pix Steve. As ReeTank said, stay away from using the digital zoom if you don't have to. It decreases the picture quality. Instead, try to get as close to the object as possible, or just crop, which is still better than the digital zoom. Also, are you using a photobox for the top downs?

No photobox yet, ...........you still haven't built me one :D

I turn off all pumps & just shoot above the water line................Now that I've got photoshop, I think I'm gonna not use any zoom & just use that to crop the pics.

BTW.............don't mind the dirty acrylic (I gotta get in there & scrape off the damn coraline), but EVERYBODY who comes by wants your zoas.......
