Went down to the wholesalers today and we found a new product I haven't heard of yet. Chemipure blue! So we picked up a couple and I'm gonna give it a try. Ill post pictures up later. My aquarium is a 30g oceanic cube with a 20g sump. I don't have any current issues with my parameters except my alkalinity is kinda hard to maintain. This product claims to reduce pH fluctuations so I'll see if that has any effect on my alkalinity. Also I've been getting a bit of hair algae but my phosphates and nitrates test 0 go figure ... I'm currently running GFO and chemipure elite so I'll see if I get any improvement on my hair algae problem, alkalinity swings and over all livestock.

Do you work at a store or something ?
I work for "so cal aquatic life service inc." Its a maintenance company and we go down to the wholesalers when we have a big build or a client wants a big order of fish and doesn't mind us picking them out for them.

"Chemipure blue is specially created for fantastic results in reef and marine aquariums. Our NEW proprietary blend of premium, low dust pelletized carbon and high capacity ion-exchange resins are skillfully combined to create a superior all-in-one filter media in a nylon bag. Chemi-pure blue significantly reduces organic compounds and phosphates while raising redox and helping stabilize pH for a healthy, crystal clear aquarium."

So far the day after adding it, I got a biofilm growing all over the glass. I thought that was weird but I just cleaned it off and today the corals are looking great and no biofilm has grown back so far. My parameters tested normal and to my surprise, my alk has not fluctuated. Tested 9.5 last night and is at 9 today, where as before I'd test 9 and 8 the next day or even down to 7.5 so so far so good

Its got little white beads in it too. Its the good ol redox resin that used to add to regular chemipure. I think they're used for ion exchange. They remind me of the seachem phosguard beads

I also picked up chemipure blue today. I rinsed it for a few minutes there wasn't much dust at all. I turned off my gfo and carbon reactor and placed both nylon bags in my sump. Hoping this works! My gfo reactor gets clogged every 2 weeks. I will be testing and documenting my experience with this new product.

Any updates on this product? I need to replace my elite. Which should I get? Is it better to get two small bags for the sump or one of the large bags?
