Every time I buy a new fish to add to the tank, they end up dying within three days. I've got a healthy group of all non aggressive fish that I've had for three years now, but anytime I try to add something g to the group it always dies (I always see my clean up crew tearing it to shreds). Is it possible the cuc is attacking it as it rests? Are the native fish not welcoming the refugee? My params are good, I just do t have a clue why new fish are dying.
Anyone ever go through this?

I had this problem for a while, my params are good, but every time I added fish for a few months this happened. I just added a bunch of fish, but added them to the fuge instead and they are doing great. I think it was the stress of all the other fish.

just seems weird if the fish was completely healthy and it died without any fish bullying I can't imagine this happening over and over. Are the fish your adding qt'd? Also whats your acclimation process? I know simple questions but if the water temp is very diff. from bag to dt that can really shock a fish also the place you are getting the fish from may have a lot diff of a salinity than your dt. small things like that coupled with just being added to a new tank again could be the trick. I was once told by a las owner near me fish dieing is how i stay in business. Sometimes just happens i suppose good luck!!!!!!!!!

My acclimation process goes against most people's beliefs or practices. I float, then add water slowly to the bag, after about an hour...in they go. Like I said, though, they last for a few days before anything happens, and appear to be in great health.

I've never had a fish from reef lounge live long. Mostly my fault I suppose. I usually get them the next day they post them up even though I sometimes see the Styrofoam box they were just shipped in in the picture. If they're fresh off the plane a real qt would benefit a whole lot. Even if it's just to get the fish use to being in a tank

New lfs fish always die on me. They dint do well transitioning from huge ocean to store to tank. It's just nature. After hundreds of dollars I finally settle for whatever i can find from other reefers. I too bought a naso from Reeflounge but it didnt last for more then 6 weeks. I drip acclimate for 8 hours and fresh water dip. I had a yellow recently that lasted 4 months. Thought hebwas a keeper. Then he got super skinny and decided to swim too close to the wp10.

Edit- nothing against Reeflounge either. Their fish was actually the healthiest I've ever bought compared to all other lfs. It's just me and not being able to keep fresh from the sea fish alive

Iv actually heard of a lot of people doing that. The only thing I'd say is try a diff store see what happens. That's nothing against reef lounge at all, just I know I can't keep a fish alive from seaside. maybe whatever their water perms are just really don't mesh well with your tank with transferring a fish. Keep us posted!!!!

All those LE corals are engaging in chemical warfare, thus killing your fish. I'd gladly take them off your hand so you can have fish! Haha

Question is, what kind of fish are you buying? And what other fish do you keep in your tank? There could be aggression issues, sure. But it'd be odd they'd all die from aggression within the same time frame.

I've had the same issue in the past. My same 5 first fish are still thriving but nothing else would make it. I think it's ich and the old fish have just built up a tolerance over time and can fight it off. That is why all of my fish are currently in a 40 gallon breeder going through prazipro and copper. I'm leaving the display fish less for 72 days. Only 29 more days to go.

I'm looking up "brook" right after I type this. Never heard of it before.

Their fish are probably straight in from the wholesaler, after a stressful ship. Try getting your fish from somewhere that's had them for a while or from a hobbist.
