I hope your not trying to breed them! The Lightning pattern ones occurs with one lightning and one thin stripe.

Yup. We were going to try and breed em but are going to wait until the larger tank is up and established.
I am doing a 250G tank in late June or early July.

These guys are just to watch. :)

So what happens when both of them make offspring...? Naked maroon clowns...? Paternless...?
I think just regular maroon clown. But I've got no clue to be honest. I just know that you can't get lightning maroon clown from two lightning maroon clowns.

Oh no! I hope you didn't want lightning fry. Genetics won't let it happen. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Yea. I did some investigating before pulling the trigger.

When we try to breed, we will get exactly the needed combo.

Lightnings can be like regular Maroons in so far as they can be arseholes but we will be putting them into the tank after the other fish have already been in for awhile. That should help with aggression issues.

That is a solid plan. Are you going to get thin stripe maroons too? Or just have one lightning pair?

Unsure. I think we will do One lightning and one thin stripe as a breeding pair. That appears to be the recommended pairing as far as I can see.

For lightning fry, that would be the way to go! Man if you get fry I want first dibs!

Lol. We are totally amateurs when it comes to breeding so I am not expecting a lot of success. It will however be fun to learn and try.

Definitely, I'm sure you can get lots of help on here. A lot of people sell phyto which is good for the fry.

Exactly.
Honestly after checking them out and reading a bit about them, I think I am as motivated as my wife is to have these guys in the tank.
They are pretty fish. :)
