Looks spiffy! Skimmer going to be big enough?
i picked up a reef octopus 150 and after fitting it in the compartmet it looks like its too big:) if it turns out to be too big ill use my BM NC-7 that im using right now. i have a 40 gal tank but i am going to have john make me a 30 x 30 x 24 which should be close to 95gals.

Nick,i was talking to John about that and how he had a bad rap. All i can say was that john stayed in communication with me, gave me some ideas on my original design that would work better and i believe he went abouve and beyond my expecttions.

I thought i would update my new sump as it has water in it now:)
This is what i was using for a sump/fuge before John hooked it up:

If you can see, i had my skimmer in the back/right of the stand which made it tight to take to cup off for regular cleanings. The sump is only servicable from the front & left side so now the skimmer is on the left side:)

This is the sump in its current state:

With this new sump layout i can service my skimmer easier, i have more room for cheato, i have double the ATO capicity, and ill be able to incorporate 2 reactors inside the sump now.

I still need to clean up all the wires and i got a delivery on saturday of a cable rack to help clean up the wires. Heres a pic if what ill be using for my wire management.

Now i need to look for 2 reactors that wont take up much space and that are reliable. I want to run carbon and either pellets or GFO. I have a next reef reactor but its 6" wide and running 2 of them would be 12"wide. I was looking at the avast reactors, they seem to have alittle smaller footprint at 5" wide but im undecided yet.

What are our thoughts/opinions on my set up guys/gals?

Nice Ed. What media are you running... I think I see pellets right? Can you explain what that wire management rack is for? I'm sitting over here scratching my head going what the heck do you do with that.

Looks very clean. I'm bummed I can't remove my sump from my stand. I would upgrade and get a new sump.

Bean, the small RO housing you see in the pic is actually my kalk reactor:) i have about 4 tbl spoons of kalk in there and i pump water in a reverse fashion. What that means is, i pump water through the "exit" port so the water feeds into the bottom portion of the container of the container. I had to modify the inside by running a pvc pipe down to the bottom. The water is then pushed through the kalk upwards and it exits through what was originally the "in" port. I seen this design about 8years ago and i have had great success keeping up with my calcium needs. But then again i wasnt running an sps tank.

The cable rack will be screwed to the top of the inside of the stand and i will run my wires inside the rack. Ill take a quick pic right now so you can have a better idea of what i intend to do.

using this rack ill be able to get rid of the zip ties and velcro fasteners i was using. it will allow me to hide all the extra length of wire inside the channel.
