Hey guys I work at a local pet store in Riverside and I have decided that I really like to have my own reef tank. I have setup a 29 gallon biocube and a little 5 gallon rimless aquatop cube. Any recommendations on some good corals to start off with. My ultimate goal is to have some great hammer corals.

Hey, welcome. It would definitely help to know more about your setup, like date you started cycling the tanks, fish, inverts, flow, etc. Sharing your water parameters would help tons. Best to make sure you can provide an adequate environment because if not, you can lose the coral & it sucks having coral die on you.

29BC is GTG for softies and some LPS with the factory light so long as you maintain the lamps.

With nanoreefs like a BC29, adding a skimmer is a lose call. Most just opt to do weekly 10% water changes and use puragin. .... weekly 10% water changes and puragin.

You’ll want to invest in an ATO, so start saving for Tunze 3152, all less expensive options are a mistake.

send me a PM and I’ll give you some freaking Xenia this weekend. If you kill it, I’ll give you some more.
