hello, well i got one occi clown, the size is about 2" from toromp
so i went to coral gazers and got an occi but smaller like 1.5" and got home, put in the tank, acclimate and all was fine after a few hours i realized the clown had some scratch on one of the fins and few minutes later my shrimp was all over the clown, so i went back to corazl gazer and got another one (thumbs up for chad, great service).

well all that was 2 days ago, so just an hour ago, i saw the little guy in the corner of the tank, but had this white thing almost looking like got beat up,

am i doing something wrong here?
the bigger clown beat the new one?
if i put a new clown, this one has to be bigger than the one i have?

oh and i caught the little guy and put it in my sump until it recovers, if so ill put it back and we'll see

suggestions anyone????

Since they're so close in size they are determining dominance and who will be the female. The larger one is obviously winning and putting the smaller one in its place so it will become the male...they're just figuring out who is dominant, that's all...

My suggestion is get a breeder net or some sort of partition and let the small one chill in there while he heals...then keep a close eye once they are reintroduced...when I was breeding maroons I would keep an eggcrate divider with a tiny hole just big enough for the male to fit through so he could retreat and the female wouldn't harass him to death...maybe an idea...?
