2 x Lumenbright (Large) Reflectors
Here's a great thread about these reflectors.
Pros:
- Concentrated Beam of Light compared to LM IIIs
- Being able to mount them 16" High. Great for looking at my tank from above, cleaning, moving things around, etc.
Cons:
- Lights are not as spread out as LM IIIs
- Not as preety (IMO) as LMIIs
Here's a LINK about these Reflectors
1 x Dual 250Watt PFO HQI Ballast
Pros:
- Probably the best HQI Ballast in the market. Too bad PFO decided to bail out of the MH business.
Cons:
- Heavy as *uck and Bulky
2 x Hamilton 14k Bulbs SE (Single Ended/Overdriven)
Pros:
- Love the White and Blue when overdriven with the PFO HQI Ballast. I also noticed that it's a bit more bluer compared to the Ice-cap E-ballast that I was previously running.
Cons:
- Everyone tells me that it's whitish yellow?!? I might add a set of 4x60" VHO and UVL Super Actinics in the future.
Here is a Light Intensity comparison using Sanjay's Reef Lighting Calculator. I was originally running 2xIce-Cap E-Ballast.
Skimmer Section - 20x17.5x12
Baffles in between the skimmer and Return Section
Return Section - 6x17.5x10
Refugium - 20x17.5x12 (Chaeto and Codium, sandless)
* Sorry I don't have an image of sump, but it's your basicaly 3 chamber sump. It holds about 40 gallons of total water volume.
Protein Skimmer:
Reef Octopus Xtreme 250
- Dual Sicce Pumps
Water Testing:
The Majority of my test kits consist of Salifert and API.
Circulation:
OceanRunner 3500 - My Return Pump, which is basically an Eheim 1260 (900gph). The pump is manufactured in the same warehouse.
Tunze - 2 x Tunze Stream 6100 (3175gph) attached to 2 x SureGrip 100 Magnets.
Future Upgrade - Tunze 7096 Multi Controller. Which is due sometime in March......:curse:
So at the moment, the tunzes are tuned down to 40% flow.
Temperature:
Heating - Jalli 800Watt Heater Controlled by my ACJr.
Cooling - 15" Fan Controller by my ACJR.
I'm a very lazy reefer and the following equipments make my life easier.
Controllers:
ACJR - I love this thing. I would never run another system without one.
* note - the PH probe is not calibrated correctly, I have a brand new lab grabe probe that I had purchased months ago but I've been lazy.
Milwaukee SMS112
* I was originally planning to use my ACJR to control the CO2 addition to my Calcium Reactor but the person I purchased the Calcium Reactor from included the Milwaukee.
Calcium Reactor:
Custom 2 Chamber Calcium Reactor (Similar to MRC-CR2 Calcium reactor)
- 7.25" Diameter on each Chambers and 18" Tall
- Eheim 1250 Recirc. pump
- John Guest Fitings
- 5lbs CO2 Bottle
- Reefanatik Regulator
* note - I use 3 parts every water changes to equalize my water change water with my tank.

Wow, I just spent about 20 mins looking at your pics. The tank and specimens are great, but your photos are equally awesome! Best part about it is I was getting paid while looking at your pics
awesome pics!! have you considered modding your 6100's? it is ez, the bigger transformers run $60-$80 and there is a great mod for cutting every other spoke on the guard
