So I had another clown fly out the tank today, it seams to happen when the lights turn on or off.

This is right after I found him, my gut reaction was to throw it back in the tank

This one is like 30 seconds later, he swam by the powerhead and got cleaned up and started swimming right away.

I'm pretty sure he'll make it. What's the longest time you've had a fish out of water and still survive?

Yeah he'll make it for sure. I've had a clown out if water for about an hour before. I once had a catfish jump out of its tank and it was actually crispy to the touch but still gulping for air. I threw it back in and after about an hour it came back around.

Just put the net on when you turn the lights on or off. Unless you are looking at the tank 24x7. Sounds like it usually happens at night or early morning.

Put the net on b4 bed and take it off when you wake up. Seems like it might save your fish.

That sucks dude.

I don't like tops, a lot of people don't actually.

My netting has saved a few of my fish from being fish jerky. I did have my Orange Back wrasse jump out on my when I took my net off. Thankfully didn't land behind the tank. I put him in after 30 seconds out of the water and he's still with me today.

I had a yellow head eel out of water for almost 3 hours. It was also crispy but alive! Those b@stards are resilient haha

3 hrs is crazy. That's how long the Picasso was out....I should have thrown him back in. Even if they are only out 30secs its crazy that they survive the fall....its like 30 times their height
