Hello all, I'm manny. Been lurking here for a bit, made an account, bought some stuff, sold some stuff, got some stuff for free, gave away stuff, shared some knowledge and have also received advice. Met a few people and I think a proper introduction is well over due. Well I've been in the hobby since I was 16 (I'm 32 now) started with cichlids and arowanas then about 2 years later moved on up to saltwater. Learned a lot by trial and error then did heavy reading in the forums and learned quite a bit and have much to learn. Took some time off due to a slow leak and finances about 2 years ago and came back this past October with a vengeance lol. I have a 225 gallon 72x30x24 FOWLER, 80 gallon qt/ot, and 60 gallon that i eventually would like to do a reef (I just have to stop spending every cent I try to save on even more fish lol) I know how everyone likes pics so here's a video and pics

Thank you! food.. hee hee lol. . 6 to 7 cubes (of my own cocktail blend of jumbo shrimp, krill, squid, octopus, scallop, clam and Atlantic salmon) 3 times a day, 1 full sheet of nori per day, hikari and spectrum pellets along with veggie flakes once a day. And yes the stick is to hold the nori, saw a video on YouTube and tweaked it a bit. Works great!

I always get like that when I see a fowler lol. Honestly, I've lurked a little on your post about your fowler . I think your over thinking it. Worse case in a fowler youcan always just treat the display tank just that you will spend more on meds because of water volume. My fish really aren't too sensitive. I change about 40 to 60 gallons every 2 to 3 weeks, salinity 1.02 to 1.022, temp about 77 78. Qt, I do more observation than anything else. Put them in my 80 with copper power feed a lot 2 3 weeks they still look good in the dt they go. I have risked it and thrown some fish in same day or few days after purchase though, knock on wood so far not so bad. In the end it is a fowler so no big deal to treat the dt. Introduction can be a pain in the ars... Sometimes fish can be very unpredictable. I'll only introduce a fish at night and after all lights have been off for at least a good half hour. In the beginning I made myself a list of the fish I wanted more or less and tried introducing similar fishes at the same time. Additional fish of the same kind I either got way smaller so they wouldn't pose a threat to the already established or larger so they could hold their own. You'll always get the odd ball though like my 2" ish blue hippo that went psycho on my newly introduced royal flasher. .. but that didn't last long, or my black tang jacking up my black back butterfly when first introduced. Go figure. As far as where I get my fish I got maybe 85 90 percent from Joe, and the remaining handful I've gotten from a csr member, rainbow, igotcorals, all about aquarium and toms

Thank you . we are a distance and the farthest I've traveled in your direction has been rainbow and vivid which I believe is still very far away. If you have a lot of fish though it is way more affordable to make your own food. Get a food processor buy a hand full of x y z, good rinse with ro, process, egg crate freeze and Popout into baggies. Tedious, smelly, sore thumbs but your fish will love you for it
nice fish collection you got there.

Can you use a blender or does it have to be a food processor? I would be happy to stop paying $20+ bucks for 8oz frozen packets

Blender won't work, has to be a food processor. With a blender the pieces would be too big although sometimes even with the processor you get large pieces but not nearly as much or as large as you would with a blender. Blender you would have to add some water then strain the water out. .. Would be a mess. And yes tell me about it I would burn about 5 bucks a day just on frozen foods if I bought it at a lfs.

Lol... For sure, heck you can get a small one at Walmart for 20 30 bucks. I think mine was like 25... bishh is it will over heat and then you have to wait because it will turn off lol . Plus it's tiny so takes long to make but hey it works. I bought it when I had much less fish and didn't need it as bad, now it's another story lol. .. Going to get a better/bigger one soon.
