Transferred some pieces over that had GHA on them. The GHA turned gray and started to disintegrate after a day or so.

Even the brown algae that was growing on the overflow turned white

Transferred most of the corals I'm keeping and the Copper Band. I was afraid that it would stop eating but as soon as I threw pellets in there it went after them. I also added a purple tang and an Achilles today. Both started grazing as soon as I threw them in. The purple ate pellets while in the bucket. Hopefully these guys do well.

Saweeet Fish stocking so far! Tanks looking great. What's taking the algae out for you?
I think it's the zeovit. I've always done half@$$ zeovit haha but for this build I started with the 14 day cycle and have been doing it 100%. I tested my parameters last night and had 0 nitrates and .23 phosphates. I gotta figure out how to get that down naturally. Hopefully my ATS will bring it down.

Thought I'd post some shots with natural sunlight. So the tank gets sunlight on one side in the morning and the other side gets it in the afternoon. The whole tank ends up getting sunlight throughout the day. Some of these coral are looking way better than in my 40G. I guess the LED/T5/Natural sunlight is working. Even the fish look awesome in natural sunlight!

What do you mean by halfa$$? I switched over to zeo recently and just did my 1st change out and will be cutting back on the daily schedule to 3x a week. Currently dosing zeobak x3 drop, zeostart3 x 1ml, sponge power x3 drop. Planning on dosing Vitalizer, sponge power, and xtra but will spread the dosage between the 3, since they are all carbon source. no3 has drop considerably (100ppm=<25ppm), po4 was nondetachable before zeo, everything else is at or close to NSW. Anything i should do differently or add to the dosage regement in your experience?

nice process. i would think the UV blocking on the windows would not allow all the light thru.
How do you guys like Zeovit and hoe much doe it cost you versus regular dosing?

Hey Eve, does natural sunlight really help with growth and if it has any effect on unwanted algae growth?
I don't know if it helps with growth yet because I just finished transferring everything over. I'll be switching the CA reactor over tomorrow and maybe in about a month or two I'll be able to answer that question better. As far as unwanted algae growth, I haven't seen any other than the GHA that was growing on some pieces I transferred over. Most of the GHA has died off except for one piece. I don't want to pull it off because I want to see if it will die as well. I was really concerned with algae on the glass but since the tank grew out of it's bloom all I get is a white bacteria film

I didn't follow as directed and I didn't run carbon. I dosed and shook the reactor when I remembered and it wasn't very often. I also never changed the zeolites. Even now I forget and skip a day. so yeah, half@ssed lol

How big is your tank? by your dosing I assume 75G? In the 45 i just dosed a lot of the KZ products not knowing how zeovit really works. I down loaded and read the zeovit manual and learned that a true zeovit system only needs the 5 basics (Zeolite rocks, zeostart, zeobak, sponge power, and zeofood or any of the other Amino acids they have). Everything else will be a corrective additive or different type of amino acid. I think that's why I got a bad algae outbreak in the 45G. I was dosing multiple amino acids that resulted in an overdose. I recommend you dose the basic until your system is established. After that you can tweak it and fine tune with the other additives.

Zeostart is the carbon source and needs to be dosed every day. Its supper concentrated. I dose 1 ml in my 120 everyday. you might need to cut bucket .75 ml.

Here's the catalog that helped me understand zeovit the most

Its expensive up front but the additives last a long time especially the zebeck and zeostart. Regular dosing? What do you consider regular dosing? I like zeovit. The first time I ran it I just ran a reactor and dosed a vodka/ vinegar/ sugar mix with zoebak and got fair results. I still had high NO3 and PO4 but I did have good growth and color. When biopellets came out I switched and after a while I came back to zeovit.
