This is a random question, but it only just came to mind now. I've been dumping my old tank water down my toilet for the past year. Sometimes it has a little sand in it. I'm in a condo so I don't really have another choice.

Are there any negative long term affects of dumping my old salt water down the toilet or any of my drains?

You could definitely get build up in your pipes. I'm in the same situation you are, I just pour the water in the toilet and try to get the sand in the trashcan.
