My GBTA has killed my Kohl tang, royal gramma, and my latest victim is now my flame angel. I have ocellaris clowns and they don't go anywhere near the anemone. I want to trade those clowns for 2 maroon clowns. If I get maroons, will they help keep my other fish away from the anemone? I know maroons are aggressive and territorial. But will they keep fish away or draw them into the anemone?

hmm.. the GBTA shouldn't be able to snag a live fish. they sting and the fish learn to move away. their stingers are not strong enough to incapacitate a healthy fish, much less kill it.

i think you're dealing with some other issue here.

what are your parameters like? are the other fishes healthy?

My clowns are fine, blue tang fine, sixline wrasse is fine, 2 purple fire fish are fine. I had to turn off my calcium reactor, it had my calcium and alk high. I turned it off 2 weeks ago. These fish just died this weekend.

Params:
CA: 510
ALK: 12.8
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrates: <5
Phos: .03
Salinity: 31.8ppt~1.024sg

these were taken on Saturday morning before I noticed the dead gramma. These fish weren't in the nem. they were found on the base of my tank where the CUC had been hard at work.

I will go out on a limb and say the tank is too small so nowhere for fish to get around said nem. What size is the tank and what size is the nem?

sorry bad pic, will take another tonight when I get home from work. But I do have 2 of them. My customer gave me both. Both are extremely happy. and haven't moved in the last 2 weeks. Basically where I placed them, they stayed and haven't moved.

Its a 80 gallon reef ready.

are the clowns paired? (one big one small?) if they're laying eggs, they could have become aggressive to any fish around their den.

how big is the six line compared to the other fishes? sixline are kinda known to be punks.

based upon the info from the other thread, i'm thinking your problem is with one / some of the fishes that's still alive, and not the nem.

The six line is smaller than the male clown. Yes paired but not spawning. My six line is an ***. But my flame angel was the worst. Killed one of my fire fish. But now its dead... hmmm

Also any new rock or large corals added before the deaths started?

Side note can we get this topic on one thread. This double thread same topic is ridiculous.

And I just sent a picture via tapatalk for the recent pic. Can we throw that pic over here? And get rid of that thread?
