I bought this pair of Onyx Clowns 4 months ago at carson tropical.

$50 located in Long Beach 90813

Pair of clowns will eat anything you put in the tank, are a bonded pair and host anenomes

Sorry for the crap pictures i was in a rush, if interested i can take better pics

Sorry bud but those aren't onyx clowns... they look like ocellaris clowns or even percs. Hard to see in the pic.

i was sold as onyx. could be true perc. the black hasnt settled in theyre still a small pair of clowns. ive also heard onyx clowns who host dont get too black. i had a pair of onyx that lost some of the black at the top fins when hosting.

That's not true, hosting doesn't impact the black on them. Sometimes but very rare is the nutrition they become somewhat pale but the black is still there. Ive owned many Onyx in the past 4 years i been in the hobby. Sorry but they screwed you... if anything is a low grade true perc.

Were they wild caught onyx? I had a pair of wild caught onyx that I bought that were black.. After a few months the black markings turned to orange! lol

well i didnt overpay for them. so didnt really get screwed. what im selling them for is how much i got them for.

Hey man a healthy hosting pair is worth twice what an LFS can sell them for at least. You've taken the risk. I bought a pair of sebae that looked great in the tank together with other fish. As soon as they got home the female destroyed the male. Remember LFS will sell you any "supposed pair" to make a buck. If they don't kill each one another you're lucky. Any true pair is worth the spending dollars.
