i was there late last week to speak with the professors who run the aquatic department and aquariums. Very nice and cool people. They want to start to learn and then teach students how to grow and aquaculture corals. They are very excited to do this, but are lacking knowledge, and resources. They need equipment mostly. Too early to ask for corals. If you guys have anything they can use or fix, please let me know and will connect you guys

I have some miscellaneous gear I'd be happy to give them, if they have use for it. I also have a tank/overflow/lid that I have posted for sale, but Id be willing to donate it to them, if they end up being able to use it for their program.
They’ll take anything. I was told even broken items can be learned from by taking them apart and trying to diagnose issue

Good excuse to clean out the shed. I'm assuming you told them about SCR?
I did, but it’s 2 professors who run this. They don’t have a ton of time to do anything else. They are currently running the program, teaching, doing aquaponics, and venturing into coral aquaculture.

I see this As a great way to get new young blood into the hobby semester after semester. Especially if they can learn with guiding hands.

I know some of these people (indirectly) and have met some of the students in this program, everyone I've met has been super great, involved, and excited. I don't have anything to offer right now, but just a +1 for helping this program get more established.

My Tank Build
#16
Are they going to have a class display tank?

I have a geissman T5 Matrix II in white...super sleek. I bought this because I always wanted this fixture, and I bought it before I even got my tank. Now it has been sitting in my shed since I got a bigger tank and this light is a bit short. I'm not sure if it is working because it's in my shed for awhile. But if they have a good electrical engineer, it should be simple to figure out. This would be great for a display tank. I can donate this if they are interested. I may even have a few T5 bulbs, but not sure if they are still good.
