Any body kept one before? If I can get one eating frozen, I am thinking of adding to the SH tank.. so pretty, but mainly to keep down aips. Have used other methods , but figured they are so pretty that I would WANT one in there to stay :)
The tank has no sps.. just some gsp , few polyps and rics , as well as mushrooms.
TIA :)

Lol .. Well, as long as the Orange spot kind eat aips I'm good.. Nothing in the seahorse tank aside from a few cheap softies.. I do have a green sinularia I like a lot, and a toadstool .. Think those are toast?

Orange spot filefish only eat acro polyps. I've heard of people mushing frozen food onto acro skeleton to get them transferred over. I was once able to get a pair on to OVA but I could never feed them enough without fouling the water, and with seahorses too, it would be a lot of water changes. If you can ask the LFS to feed the fish at the store and see if they'll take frozen mysis, may be the best bet. You could get lucky!!!

Orange spot filefish doesn't eat aptaisa. Their natural food source is sps. I used to have one for 6 months that I trained to eat pellets and frozen but unfortunately he developed a taste for my expensive acan lol so had to get rid of him.

I don't know anything about them, but bluezooaquatics.con says they only eat sps in the wild and screen buyers to make sure they have sps to offer as food. They even send the fish out with an acro for starter food. Doesn't look like they eat aiptasia. Maybe give them a call for better info?
