I think this lady might be a touch on the dramatic side? Ive never been warned that any of our home coral can really make you sick or worse. Ive done wayyyy more dangerous things with palys than just scratch at one. Ive heard people on this forum whove been squirted in the eye and not almost die. Does she have some rare super poisonous variety of paly?

I'm thinking there is missing information. I don't see simply taking a tooth brush to some algae on a Zoa to start killing fish and releasing toxins into the air.

I don't trust anyone named Chasity. Its always a newb reefer that this happens to. Wonder what she did exactly... certainly didn't use a toothbrush inside the tank on the rock. Probably had them out on her craft table and the family took turns using the tooth brush with no gloves or other protection. Its like these stories are being pushed by animal rights or environmentalist groups.

If she didn't want to kill all her fish, she should have done some more research before setting up the tank. A quick google search would indicate potential hazards when working with palythoa corals.

Her last name says it all. Ah man.. she probably scrubbed them and didnt wash her hands enough and made dinner. Ive never had a problem with these and Ive been slimed real good by them on my bare skin. Being smart about scrubbing your hands after is key. Glad they didnt die. Smh

Do you know how we know the tooth brush was invented in Texas?

Wait for it

Wait for it

Because if the toothbrush was invented anywhere else, it would have been called a teeth brush

Ba-Ta-BOOM!

Anyways, I bet she brushed her tooth with it after cleaning the palys

And Chastity: youll get every thing you want until you get inside the VIP room and then its: my manager watches the cameras but you can buy me a $20 glass of champagne
