overflow box questions

I am setting up a 40 breeder. I'm lost n don't know where to start. I've never ran a sump in all my years. So what size overflow box should I even consider using. I did just make a call and got quoted $60 for a 8x4 1/2 x 6 ..... Just lost any direction would be appreciated.

I don't even know if the $60 quote is even good seems a little high to me but I could just be wrong since I don't know.

I would recommend drill the tank. I've had a snail clog up a hob overflow causing the tank to overflow.
