RC asks for more then MikeEe does & you don't get crap for it..................Yet I don't see anyone on RC's site giving them $hit about it...............Maybe it's because you can speak your mind here w/o the fear of being banned (unlike the Nazi site)............IMO even more of a reason to support this site!!!!

I like the site and paid 20 as for benifit for payin its not about that i just won the june frag pack with out payin. i like the site just like the stuff in my tank one thing i find odd about this thread is 20 in our hobbie is like minimum payment when you walk next to any tank thats not yours and has somthin for sale. Its just my opinion its $20
You were a paid member at RC until the whole "non support of Bruce's fund" thing went down. On that site you don't get the chance of a frag pack nor a tshirt for paying....& that started as a free site too........so really I don't see your point... 
Yes that is correct Steve, i was a paid member. but after that the events that went down about Bruces Fund I have to think twice before supporting any site..
great points everyone. i do have to agree with some but then again i remember when Bruce was around and everyone begged for hmm more moderation the only one that was banned was bill, and when there should have been a long list. luckly there has not been to many instances since so with all the new mods i dont see this happening agian.. and btw bruce you are still missed. =) i hope the lil reef in heaven is off the hook for ya!

Yes Mike, I did win 2 POTM contests. Great prizes. I started Reefers R Us as an alternative to RC and SCR. This was done in response to a lot of the members here and on RC who complained about how this site was turning into a forum for people to bash, ridicule, chastize, slander, and downright belittle each other. Moderation was virtually non-existant. Those same people who complained are still here. Reefers R Us will "hopefully" never become a member paid site. If I find the site in need of funds, I would then hope to be able to have paying sponsors (Maybe they would then visit more often, right Steve?). If that does not come to fruition, I would shut the site down instead of asking members to pay to get a different colored username and a tee shirt. All I can say is to those who complained about wanting a new site but did not follow thru when the opportunity arose, chupame! You know who you are. Once I started doing the coding and getting the site up and running, I couldnt stop!!! But Boy oh Boy,did I have delusions of Granduer.
Mikee, Keep up the good work and effort. Running a forum is almost a full time job. In that regard, I respect what you are trying to accomplish. Although everyone may not agree with each others methodologies, we DO have to respect them.

I have just been silently reading here and i commend the member for keeping this thread a very civilized, informative exchange of opinion, I was here when Mike started this site and when some members started to become rude and annoying and members personal agendas aired here, But with all the effort and patience we are getting the upper hand, and it was not fun some member have seen the big improvement that this site had, as for moderating speaking for my self, I think i have been fair but with a big stick to whack those who get out of control
We are not forcing member to pay the $20 to become a supporter its all voluntary and since some member mentioned other site OK how much did you pay just for my curiosity

Keep up the good work Mike. I know this site has gone a long way. I used to see alot of inappropriate things being posted and Mike has done a good job with addtl moderators to help make this site more enjoyable. I visit this site more often than nano-reefs or scnrs due to the members here. I still go to RC late at night if I need to research something.
